Tackle Banner

Yeah, didn’t see one of those banners for awhile here – hehe. Okay, my project this week doesn’t seem much (and you might not see a difference), but it took me an hour to get it done…

You see, when I went to the store I saw a nice little bouquet of fresh-cut-flowers and I purchased them. Well, coming home, I wanted to put them on the dresser in our bedroom. Our dresser was all dusty and had some candle wax on it. Does that happen to you too? You didn’t plan on cleaning something and than you spend an hour on it. So, I figured, since I am already doing a project, why not grab the camera and take a picture before and after …

So, here is the before:

All Yucky with Dust

Now you are thinking: messy??? Well, yes it was ~ trust me on that one. You didn’t see all the fine little dust laying on top. Did you notice the little stuffed animals on top. 😳 – talk about nasty! First I started to vacuum them off. Didn’t get the job done. So, yours truly took the animals and threw them in the wash machine. It worked. Washed them in the gentle cycle with Woolite and voila – no more dust…But I have to admit. One of my little stuffed animals didn’t make it back on the shelf. It fell apart…*Sigh* – So, here is the dresser, all shiny and pretty, including the little bouquet:

Shiny makes me Happy

Did you tackle a little project like me, or did you tackle a huge one? I really have a big one to tackle and I always find an excuse for not doing it. Right now: it is too hot in Arizona…Well, I am glad Janice is back and she keeps me going on projects around the house :)…Happy Tuesday to all visitors today.

  1. Looks great! 🙂 That happens to me sometimes too – I don’t plan on cleaning something but then something makes me start and off I go! The dust free shiny dresser looks smashing with its flowers and all. So sorry about you loss to the washing machine.

(Yes I am still up. I totally planned on going to bed early – but of course I didn’t make it. I am going now though – you are my last stop.)

  2. Nice job! I’m embarassed myself. I took a picture of our new kitten “watching TV” and when I looking at the picture on the computer, there was dust under the TV cabinet. OOOPPPPS, that one won’t make it to the WWW! Have a teriffic Tuesday!

  3. I came via Gracious Home, I’ve seen your comments on Sandra’s blog. I don’t think I’ve been before – so ‘hi’. Your dresser looks just lovely. Blessings. Sarah

  9. I did a load of laundry today…. I’m so lame when it comes to housework. I’m not a good cleaner, organizer, tidyer. I’ve let the house go the last year since reno’s are still going on, dusting the tables just to find more dust by the end of the day sucks. I will have to wash the kids toys though, that was a good idea!
