What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” ~ Philippians 4:4-5 (NIV)

  • I am thankful for a fresh start every morning. It makes my heart sing and rejoice in the Lord. His love endures forever…
  • I am thankful that I am healthy to get up every single day and take care of my husband’s needs…
  • I am thankful that my computer died tonight and I am sitting here in the living room with hubby and can listen to him sleeping, while blogging. It kind of calms me…
  • I am thankful that Chrixean (our hostess) is almost ready to show us pictures of her little girl…
  • I am thankful for the opportunity to blog with CWO…It is for me another creative outlet. Thank you, Darlene…
  • Isn’t it great to be alive and well? There is so much hurt out there in the world. Strained relationships, especially marriages…Would you lift up marriages and that people learn how to respect each other?

What are you thankful for today? Anything special I could pray for your today? It would be an honor…Prayer is a wonderful thing, don’t you agree? Have a blessed day…

  1. Great list, Iris. You know one thing I try to do is to thank people who do things for me even if it’s something I didn’t ask them to do. This is especially true with my family! Blessings to you today.

  2. Late last night I found a poem a gentle gave to me when I was struggling to make ends meet. This is one of the little quotes. I was reminded to be thankful in through hard times, because God has a plan for us then as well.

Thank you for the valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
    The mountain tops are glorious
But it’s in the valleys I grow!

  3. … and such a beautiful day He has given us. The weather is just FAB but it’s gettin’ chilly at night (like 57-60, I dread winter temps). Our day time temps are down to 80-90.

Goodmorning! Hope you have a good day, today. My flowers are still SO beautiful and I thank you very much. I only wish you could see how great they really are. The pink ones are in full bloom and wow me everytime I see them.

  4. Amen to your thankful thursday!

I am thankful for the life He has given me and for my beautiful large family. And I am thankful for the simple pleasures of my everyday life. And I thank god for the wonderful friends I’ve made through my blog. 🙂

  5. It is such a great idea to take some time and reflect on all that we have to be thankful for! Thanks for posting such a great reminder of thankfulness.

  6. I’m excited as well! I will definitely post Keira’s first pics soon after my birth…. well give me time to sleep a bit, then I’ll post them , hehe. I am also thankful for good health… nowadays with all the diseases that have been going around, you can only be thankful to the Lord for continuing to protect you from them…. God bless, Iris!

  7. Right now I’m thankful for the answer to prayer God gave me concerning a conflict I was having with my mom…His loving chastisement is always appreciated…and I’m thankful He gives me the grace to accept it!

As for your question about the old mission church, I’m not sure if it’s still in use..I tend to think not, ’cause there is just nothing around there…it’s in a semi arid area of BC. It has an old delapidated graveyard beside it as well, but we took the pic while travelling on the highway and used the zoom..next time I’m thru there I’ll make a point to stop, ’cause I’ve passed the old beauty many times and have always wanted to go “say hello”. I love old church building…there’s one just being moved in our town and when they set her up on the new foundation I’m going to visit…right now no one is allowed near it.

I’m going to visit you photo blog…silly me didn’t even notice you had one, but will be back regularly to check it out.

  8. How wonderful that you saw the bright side of a computer not working!

I love to read your thankful lists – it always lightens my spirit and makes me more thankful. Today I am thankful that I have been healthy enough to do all that I have been doing to care for my family and blog. With my poor health it is always a struggle but it is a miracle all I am able to do now compared with ten years ago. I am so grateful!!!

  9. It is all about attitude, isn’t it? If we have an attitude of thankfulness, we have the eyes to see all that for which we can be thankful!

This is a character trait we’ve trained (intentionally) in our children. And you know what? Our kids ARE thankful, and express it to us, and others, often. And right now, I am particularly thankful for THAT! 🙂

  10. Prayer is indeed so wonderful. It’s my lifeline. I used to jump on the bandwagon and try to cover the WHOLE WORLD in prayer. Now I allow the Spirit burden me with just a few things, and then I pray really hard, out loud, and sometimes with tears.

I do pray for marriages. (It’s one of my burdens.) The enemy often goes right for the jugular, because marriage supposed to model the relationship between Christ and his bride, the Church. I’ve been meditating on Mal. 2:15 today. God hates divorce!

    Have a wonderful weekend.
