Pink Ribbon

I am sure you know of someone close to you who had/has breast cancer. I have two wonderful friends and one aunt who underwent the treatment and are survivors. I celebrated with Carol B, Carol P and my aunt Elke their breast cancer survival.

October is Breast Cancer awareness month around the world and a lot of major cities in the US host “Race for the Cure”. If you can not get personally down to the race to walk or run, I encourage you today to sponsor someone who races. There are many Websites about breast cancer and cancer survival, there is one official site ~ The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Please take a moment this weekend to find out how you can get involved, either through walking, running, sponsoring or donating. The official Website is also a great resource for patients and family members.

Dear Lord, I want to lift up all the survivors of breast cancer to You today. Give them strength for the days to come. Give them the comfort that You will see them through the times of struggle. Lord, I also want to lift up the families who have lost loved ones through this decease. I am trusting in Your mercy and pray in the precious name of my Lord & Savior, I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen

  1. Thank you SO much for your kind words. They brought me to tears and I felt so very encouraged. You don’t know how much that meant to me.

  2. Very cool post! I just sponsored my sister in an overnight “charity” walk through downtown London, England… for the exact same cause. My sister sent photos and it looks like she and her walking buddies really had a blast. (One of the checkpoints was a ride on the London Eye.) One of my closest friends is trying to talk me into walking with her over there next year!
