I personally am planning on attending the conference in Phoenix in October of 2009. Something to look forward to in the new year. You know what the theme is for next year? “Mercy” — how awesome is that πŸ˜› ?

Living Intentionally ~ July’08 ‘Check-In’

Elisa, I really didn’t mean to skip the last couple of months on “Living Intentionally”. You see, if I don’t put everything on my ‘blogging calendar’, I forget…I am sorry that I forget once again to set my calendar on sharing my up-dates on “Living Intentionally 2008″…

As I was reading over my list from January, I think that some things have changed. Or a least I have made adjustments to it – more or less…so, let me give you a little up-date on the items.

  • “Not pressing ahead of the Lord, but waiting on Him…” – Yes, this one I do have a handle on. I know that I can trust Him; His timing is always perfect – I just have to be open to His guidance – stop and listen.
  • “Continue with my morning routine to read my Bible…” – Some days I moved it to a later time of the day to read my Bible. This part I have changed – I want to know the books of Philippians in-and-out by the end of the year. To me, Philippians is the top-of-the-list encouragement book of the Bible…
  • “Continue scanning photos of our son…” – this one I had to stop for a while, because it put me into a tail-spin. It made me sad. Let me explain: I am proud of our son – he is a great young man now. Looking at all his baby and childhood photos made me realize that this chapter of my life is closed. Every time I scanned a photo, I had tears in my eyes. I didn’t realize how much it affected me until the day my sweet friend Lynn called me on it – I was on the verge of depression…so, I had to stop scanning for a while. Eventually I will be able to scan all our son’s photos…
  • “Expending on Laced with Grace…” Changed that a little too. Instead of going with a forum, we will have guest authors for the rest of the year. We still have one guest spot open πŸ˜‰ . It would be for November – so just let me know if you are interested…
  • “Stop and listen to hurting people…” I continue to do that as good as I can throughout my busy days.
  • “Share my blessings with others…” I think that I am on track on this one πŸ™‚ …
  • “Writing down thoughts in my little book…” – Argk – not so good on this one. But I have been writing out my prayers…
  • “To truly live intentionally…” – Yeah – that has been the strong point this year. Take in every.single.minute. – Count my blessings, even when in the valley…Loving the ones close to me and the ones not so close to me. I pray that I will continue this point for the rest of the year…

Refreshment for the Soul

“Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
~ Psalm 37:1-4 (ESV)

Some mornings I grumble to the Lord these words:
“Lord, I am tired. I really don’t want to get ready this morning. Every day is the same. People grumble. They are always angry at someone…”

Be blessed today and always…

Thankful Thursday ~ Providence

“So Abraham called the name of that place, β€œThe Lord will provide”; as it is said to this day, β€œOn the mount of the Lord it shall be provided.””
~ Genesis 22:14 (ESV ~ emphasis mine)

Ha – so my post from last week disappeared, except the Bible passage and the links to the participants. I wonder what happened? I tell you – this blogging business can be very tricky. I wonder if I can find my post from last week…

This week I am thankful for His provision in my life. It boggles my mind sometimes how generous our Lord is. Specifically I am thankful for…

  • Thank you Lord for given me Your Word so I may always find the comfort I need when I am down…
  • I am thankful that the Lord is helping me to keep focus what is really important in life. Although my job is really demanding and I don’t agree with some of what is happening, I am content (only through prayer…)…
  • I am thankful for our house, food, running water. I always take these things for granted, but there are some without…
  • I am thankful that the Lord grants me health. I have seen so many people being sick – I have been fairly healthy all my life…
  • I am thankful that the Lord gave me thoughts on a devotion I wrote on Monday night. I was totally empty, but He filled me up – thank you sweet Jesus…
  • I am thankful that I had patience to up-grade the devotional blog manually last weekend (although it gave me some more gray hairs…). I don’t like messing with up-grades, but they are necessary…
  • I am thankful that the Lord provided some additional writers for Laced with Grace. I will let you know next week who the new writers are πŸ˜› . I am also thankful that one of my sweet friends will be returning to write for Laced with Grace next month. Laurel – it means a lot to me that you are…
  • And last but not least I am thankful that the Lord has placed such a patient husband by my side…

What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us. If you have posted your own thankful post, please leave your link below. I will try to make it this week to visit all of you.

Thank you for stopping by today…blessings to you and yours,
