Thankful Thursday ~ Christmas

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
Luke 2:11-14 ESV

As I had shared today at Laced with Grace, I love reading the Christmas story in Luke 2. Not only at Christmas time, but all year long. Isn’t it beautiful how God made a way for us to be saved? Yes salvation came through a little baby boy born in a stable.

Luke 2_DecemberBut what mostly impresses me how obedient Mary was. You see, she could have been only about 15 or 16 years old when Gabriel (see Luke 1:26-38) appeared to her sharing that she would be child. Mary was already engaged to be married to Joseph. I can’t even imagine how she felt when Gabriel made the announcement to her. But God knew what He was doing; He knew that Mary would be obedient.

I am thankful for Mary, Joseph (still marrying Mary after he knew she was pregnant), but mostly I am thankful that Jesus left the throne to become human. I love Christmas and the promise that is fulfilled on Good Friday.

What are your thankful for this week. Please do share with us by leaving a link to your Thankful Thursday post below.

Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: no matter how busy you are this Christmas season, make room for Jesus in your heart.

Merry Christmas!!!!

Thankful Thursday ~ Easter

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”
(John 11:25-27 ESV)

Cross

Easter is my favorite holiday. Of course I like Christmas as well, but Easter has a special place in my heart and soul.

Like Mary, I say “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ…” I believe that Christ died for my sins, and rose again on the third day. Because of His sacrifice I have direct access to God.

My friend Kathy, wrote a wonderful blog about the Cross and the Resurrection. Not only should the Cross be important to us, but the Resurrection of our Lord.

So this week, I am thankful for Holy Week, with Christ’s Resurrection being the most important event ever happened.

What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us by leaving a link to your Thankful Thursday post below.

Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: Christ’s Resurrection is the most important event ever.

Thankgiving Message from the LWG Team

Laced With Grace

What does thanksgiving mean to you? The Laced with Grace team is sharing their thankfulness with their readers. I hope you will be able to join in…

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the LORD is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
(Psalm 95:1-5 ESV)

Have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving, my dear friends!!!

Love & peace,
Iris
