And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
(Romans 8:28 ESV)
Sometimes we need to go valleys, to appreciate the mountain top, giving us a fresh outlook on life.
Paul says it well in Romans 8:
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:37-39 ESV)
After my husband’s long sickness, we have made many changes; especially to our diet. I have learned so much about sodium and its danger. I am thinking about ‘opening’ another blog about healthier cooking with lower sodium. But then again, who knows what the future holds.
So, this week, I am thankful the for the valleys and a fresh outlook God has given me on life.
What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us by leaving a leaving a link to your Thankful Thursday post below.
Thank you for stopping by today. Remember: the valleys are not as bad as they seem; God will make the best of it.
Love & peace,
Iris

I eat pretty healthy – I’ve cut way back on sugars, I use sea salt or just some non salt spices and have cut way back on white flours. We had unexpected comment and ran to the store and got hot dogs, hamburger, WHITE buns…. And I was sick for two days. I was amazed at how bloated and gross I felt. Lesson learned. Keeping you all in prayer. I am thankful for my health. Amen.
So glad you guys are on a healthier road, now. Beautiful perspective in your last sentence!
Thank you for the link up 🙂 Have a blessed day!
I’m thankful for the father I had and want to challenge those that still have their father to tell him they appreciate and love him. You never know how long you’ll have them. My father died suddenly from a heart attack six years ago and when Father’s Day comes around it kinda makes me sad, but I’m thankful for all the years we did have him.
Great blog – just found you.
Amen my friend, so glad your dear husband is doing better.
I am thankful for so much, thank you for the reminder to sit down and acknowledge all the things I should be thankful for.
Iris,
First time here. What am I thankful for? Summer days to spend with my girls and second chances.
Adversity adds perspective though it is tough in the middle. Great post about the blessing of the valleys.
You’re so right — we need the valleys not only to strengthen our faith, but to make us appreciate the mountaintops!
