“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
~ Romans 6:4 (ESV ~ emphasis mine)

Before I share my thankfulness on change with you, I would like to alert you that next week you will see something different on this blog. Please be assured that Thankful Thursday will always have a home at Eph2810.com – or at least as long as our Lord sees it fit to bring us together every week (and you like to share your thankfulness with the world)…

Change… we sometimes don’t like change; I know I am not. I also know that even though I might not like the change, I can trust the Lord to see me through the transition…

  • Lord, thank You for always being there for me. No matter what changes are happening in my personal or ‘professional’ life, You are faithful – Your love for me will never change. When I loose the grip on my life, Your grace is sufficient for me. In my weakness, You are my Strength…
  • Lord, thank You for my beloved. You gave him a heart to love me; especially when major changes hit like a ton of bricks…
  • Lord, thank You for placing women like Laurel, Lynn, Angie, Darlene and Jamie by my side. Without their support and prayers I would have had a harder time going through the changes of the past 6 months…
  • Lord, thank You for the change at work. Although I need to still adjust to the new management team, I trust it will be for the better – knowing that You are in control of every detail in our lives…
  • Lord, I am thankful for the change in weather. Although it is still hot, the humidity went down and it is easier for me to breathe…

What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us below in leaving your link to your blog.

Thank you for stopping by today…Remember: God is unchangeable – you can put your trust in Him. He will transform you if you are willing…

  20. Love the theme for this week. So many things to be thankful for regarding change, even though change is hard sometimes. Thanks for hosting this wonderful meme, and I loved your list! Happy Birthday, too!

  21. Most people hate change, but you are thankful for it! Thanks for this outlook on change and for hosting Thankful Thursdays. It does us good to think about what we’re thankful for, and actually write about it!

  22. I too dislike change, but I am so glad you are relying on our Savior to get you through these changes. He is going to get you through it all and I will be praying for you too! It is wonderful to have everyone share what they are thankful for each week as it helps keep our hearts humble and filled with gratitude for what our Savior does in our lives. I so appreciate you hosting Thankful Thursdays, God bless you Iris 🙂

  23. Happy Birthday Iris! How grateful I am for you and your willingness to host us together and remind us to be thankful!

    Blessings to you sweet sister!!

  24. I wanted to send you birthday wishes. I heard about that from Laurel’s blog and read how she is especially thankful for you. Isn’t it great how the Lord blesses us with good friends?

BTW, I have a hard time dealing with change. I am a very loyal person and tend to stick with the same people and things. However, I know I need to be listening when the Lord wants me to change directions. I must admit that sometimes I just don’t want to hear it. Thanks for the reminder.

  25. Iris, I’m looking forward to checking to see what God has impressed on you to do with the blog next. I’m glad you listen to His prompting and use this as a tool to reveal Him and His character. His character shows through you, or at least through your writing. I’m always glad to join in on Thursdays. Being thankful intentionally keeps us in the right frame of mind. I really enjoyed doing my own Thankful post today. It’s a little different than I normally do. I didn’t do a list, but I was really thankful for change or…exchange. Many blessings to you.

  26. Not doing a post today since I’m stil trying to process my trip. But I wanted to stop by and wish you a Happy Birthday my friend. I’m praying for you as you make the changes you feel God is leading. Have a wonderful time of celebration of you this weekend!

  27. I love your post. Transition is one of the mainstays of my life right now. I can’t wait to see what happens here next week; whatever it is, I am sure God will lead you.

And your birthday is coming this weekend? Happy happy birthday! I wish you all the joy that you and this blog bring to the rest of us!

  28. Change isn’t always easy. I’ve experienced more than I ever thought I would this past year, but somehow, when we KNOW that God is walking us through the change, each step of the way, there is a peace that goes beyond our understanding. I pray that God will continue to guide you through all these changes.
    ~ Leanne

  29. Iris,

I heard it was your birthday? Is it today? Or Saturday?? Whenever your special day rolls around – I hope it’s a VERY HAPPY ONE! 🙂

(I’ve been lazy today.. no “TT” post for me) I just didn’t want to let the chance to stop in and wish you well get past me.

    LOVE YOU!

  30. Thanks so much for sharing… changes are sometimes hard and sometimes welcomed, but God is always there with us, helping and guiding us through them. Praise Him for His faithfulness!

    Blessings!

  31. Iris, Honey, I have been an empty nester now for 3 years and I can finally say, it is a great thing. I was in mourning the first year, until I reinvented myself. And I actually have had to ‘fall out of love’ with my wonderful daughter. I know I had lived the last few years vicariously through her many wonderful opportunities…opportunities I never dreamed about much less had, and then all of a sudden it was over. Goodness, that sounds terrible. But I also have dealt with the expectation issue. My mom expected me to come often and be her best friend, and I did. I don’t put that expectation on Amanda, because I suppose down deep I wanted her to want it, not have it forced on her…but she rarely comes to see us, her life is so busy. And in 3 months she and her husband will be moving 1000 miles away! The enemy has really used that one to try to break (sting) my heart, but you are so right God is so much greater than all of this and He pours new life in the empty places if we give them to Him. You are in my prayers as you continue to work this out, and God bless you!!
    Carolyn
