“Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King! Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre! For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.” ~ Psalm 149:2-4 (ESV –emphasis mine)
Do you like dancing? I do! Especially when it comes to praising my Lord. Sunday morning was beautiful at the Sunrise service. Although it was cold, I could not help but dance before my Lord. My heart was filled with joy knowing that He saved me from myself. Here is my grateful heart for this week – oh Lord…
- Lord – I am thankful that You gave up the throne for a little while; to take the punishment for me. Thank You for saving me. I am looking forward to the day when I can dance all day long before You – praise You name forever and ever in Your presence…
- Lord – thank You for enabling us to leave town overnight last week to spend some time away from the daily hustle and bustle. The get-away refreshed my heart and made my feet lighter..
- Lord – thank You for spending time with me every morning in my little ‘sanctuary’. Although I would rather dance than drive, but that would be too dangerous. So I sing to You instead. I love how You give me strength and focus every day for work…
- Lord – thank You for my beloved. I am so glad that You have placed him in my life. My beloved makes me laugh and dance inside. I am always excited when I get home…
- Lord – thank You for the incredible community of Christian women bloggers that meet here every Thursday to praise Your name. No matter if we are in the valley or on the mountain top. You help us realize that we are a blessed bunch…
- And Lord – thank You for sending an additional writer for the devotional team blog. I praise You that You have given Tiffany peace to join us. It made me dance the ‘giggy’ last night…
My precious Thankful Thursday ‘bunch’ – what are you thankful for today? You might be going through the valley, but know that He is there with you. So, please share with us what you are thankful for this week. Even if it is just the smallest blessing…If you have written your thankful post, please link below. Make sure the link is valid, because I don’t check the links usually until I transfer them to be permanent on Saturday morning.
Thanks for stopping by today – and remember: there is always a reason to dance before the Lord – He is worthy of our praise, because of His love for us…

I like watching other people dance, but I’m afraid my body isn’t limber enough for dancing. 🙂
It’s a nice warm feeling, though, knowing that the Lord is always there for us, wherever we are and whatever it is we’re doing. 🙂
I too like to dance also. Great TT. I will try to get mine up tomorrow, worn out from son’s birthday =) Have a wonderful (night) and Thursday. Welcome Tiffany!
Oh Iris,
I could not help but dance before my Lord…. Amen. I could barely hold back my body from dancing, singing and praising. I wanted to shout and skip in the isles at church.
This is an absolutly beautiful post. I am touched to read it. Thank you. Love you my friend.
I like to believe that I’m good at dancing but that’s like mmm…wishing…heheh.. I can sway to the tune though and I try so hard to sing. But whatever works for the Lord.
Thanks for this thankful post.

I do love to dance Iris! During Easter services we had girls dancing a beautiful dance to “Days of Elijah”. How I longed to just join in. I love your list – just beautiful.
Oh, Iris, I have SO MANY things to be thankful for! Tonight, I’m especially thankful for a beautiful baby-girl named Allie Grace! She’s my new niece and I just can’t wait to get my hands on her!!!

What a wonderful List! I love to dance too, especially before the Lord! I love that I have that freedom!
Beautiful post! The joy of the Lord is wonderful and amazing!
As we were leading worship on Sunday, I felt so overwhelmed with joy that I almost broke out in dancing! I restrained myself a little, just because we don’t have that kind of church. But, wow, the joy was so amazing!
Have a blessed day, Iris!
I love this weekly discussion activity! We have so much to be thankful for!

I love the theme! Thank you for your comments!
Be blessed!
Nice TT, Iris!
Iris,
I just want to thank you for hosting this every week. i know it is extra work but I appreciate you so much. I love being able to express my gratitude to our Lord through writing. It seems to make it so “real”. Thanks again.
P. S. My aunt and mom say it’s their favorite post of mine each week!
Iris,
This is beautiful. I, too, love to dance. I love that God meets us where ever we are- the car, the shower, or church! I have experienced the joy of His presence so greatly while driving home from the video store (being a mom of 5 children- I take any quiet moment alone with the Lord I can get!!!).
Thanks so much, Iris for hosting this. I am especially thankful to remember the sweet mornings out walking this week when I look out the window right now and see SNOW! 🙂 Thanks for encouraging us to have an attitude of gratitude!
Many blessings,
Tracy
Three years passes as a blink of an eye! How wonderful for you! Congratulations.
Dancing!
I am dancing over your post.
I love when I feel so alive that I dance in His presence. I do a lot of inner dancing when I am with Him. And my daughter dances so that makes me love dance even more. I watched a pair of ice skaters while I walked on the treadmill at the Y and their movements were a dance. The Lord spoke sweet love to my heart as I looked in awe. God wants me to join him in a similiar rhythm everyday as I walk in His ways.
Thank you for your excitement over me joining the Laced With Grace team. I am humbled to be asked and thrilled to jump in and dance.
I posted my TT earlier and forgot to link here. But, I’ll blame that on this terrible respiratory problem I am having with my allergies. Ugh!! Thanks Iris for this TT meme and thanks for your list. I loved reading it. God’s grace and peace to you this week.
I find when I dance, I forget myself. I think dancing is a very high form of worship indeed (just ask David). It is totally giving up yourself to the Holy Spirit.
Once again, thank you Iris for an inspiring TT.
Wonderful thankful post, you’ve made me want to get up out of my seat and dance in the joy of the Lord.
I loved reading your post. It filled me with Joy. Blessings.
Amen! We certainly are a blessed bunch.
Blessings to you. 🙂
amen on the dancing. Can’t wait to dance in His presence. And I also am thankful for a place to publically thank God for His blessings in the vale or on the mountaintop with other sisters in Christ.
Doing a little jiggy sounds pretty fun right now. We had a beautiful dance presentation on Sunday and it made me wish I could dance like that. Dancing expresses so many heartfelt emotions.
I was so blessed by your post!
What a beautiful list for this week! Munchkin and I were just dancing with our dog recently. Yes, our dog likes to join us when we dance around. It’s quite funny. Have a wonderful week.
I love the scripture this week! God is sooo good! Sometimes I DO feel like dancing. 😀
I used to dance a lot when I was younger. Every now and then when He (The Lord) moves me…I dance for Him. What a difference there is between the moves of then 😮 and now :-). Enjoyed your list. Be blessed,
Stacy
Happy (late) Thankful Thursday! I truly love doing this – it really keeps my heart in the right place.
I should have read your post first thing this morning! Boy did I need it! Thank you for your encouraging post. And I’m so glad Tiffany is joining the devotional team. I enjoy her writing and her friendship so much.
I just love getting away, even if it is just for one night! It is refreshing! Glad you had a nice time…
What a sweet Thankful post! It made my heart ♥ smile. We are so blessed, aren’t we? I liked your dancing bit. Dancing is a very happy word! 😀
~Blessing to you and yours~
