“Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O Lord, be upon us, even as we hope in you.”
~ Psalm 33:20-22 (ESV – emphasis mine)
Yeah – Thursday again. I have to admit, Thursdays are my favorite day of the week. Not only is it close to the weekend, but also gives me the opportunity to be thankful publicly…I hope that my list will not bore you and won’t get too long like last week…
- I am thankful that I can hope for a better tomorrow. When I search Scripture the word hope comes up 165 times in the ESV Bible…How cool is that!
- I am thankful for Anti-Spam plugins. I hope that it will not deter you from leaving comments, but I had to install a word verification plugin. The other (non-visual) plugin gave my visitors error messages. I took it off, but oh, dear, I had 149 spam comments in my folder within 24 hours. I hope that the new plugin will work for everyone…
- I am thankful for our son. I love him dearly and I hope that he soon will find a job that fits his abilities. He has been out of work the last 3 weeks–I know that the Lord has already one for him in mind. I just have to pray, trust and wait…
- I am thankful for a good annual review at work. I hope that the impending raise and bonus will help us to buy a new wash machine without going into debt. Yeah, our old one makes funny noises. I hope it will last just a little longer…
- I am thankful for our health in this family. I hope that God continues to watch over us…
- I am thankful for my Sweetheart. I hope that God continues to grow, teach and leads me to become a best wife I can be…
- I am thankful for the Thankful Thursday bunch. I hope that I will make to all of you this week. I am so sorry that I didn’t get around to everyone last week…
- I am thankful for impending vacation. I just hope that I can hold on until September. Girls – I.AM.READY. for vacation…

Psm 39:7 “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait?
My hope is in you.” OH AMEN, FOR HOPE.
I enjoyed reading your Thankful Thursday list, praying for your son, where are you going in Sept (I think you told me but I forgot, oh wait the beach right?), I hope you get a good raise and bonus also.
Have a great day.
Thankful for HOPE! That’s awesome! I guess we can lose everything but if we still have hope (in Christ) all is not lost!
I HOPE your washing machine holds out. Ours was making those funny noises and we assumed the worst… but the repair guy came out and it was a tiny little repair. He said we’re “good to go” for a few more years. I am thankful for washing machines that work!
Have a wonderful Thursday.
What a great list. We do have so much to be hopeful for as Christians.
Have a terrific Thursday.
Blessings, Lyndy
Iris,
Your list is great…. I love this…hope comes up 165 times.. Neat!!! Blessings and have a great day. Love and hugs, Lynn
yes! I love your list! especially the anti spam and the one about each day. Anne of Green Gables said that every day is brand new and it’s true
Thanks for sharing your hopes!
“Be joyful in HOPE, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
I love your list sweety.
Thanks for sharing awesomely! Is that a word?? Without hope, where would we be? Praise God that our hearts can be filled with hope from Him, no matter what goes on around us. Congrats on your good review at your job! Vacation is always something good to look forward to. I love the TT bunch also! They are pretty amazing people and they bless the socks off of me!!
Blessings on your day!
Iris, thank you so much for sharing us your thankul list of hope.. I think it is really what I want in my life.
last year, I attened a chrismas party, got the card with Hope verse on it, then I attend my last service in Macau, I got a card with Hope verse again. So my best friend Loulou, a pastor’s wife told me that it was the message given by the Lord on 2007. Never lose hope whateven you experience…I know it is right.
Also thank Ann to share Romans 12:12 in her comment. I enjoy it very much.
Enjoyed your list…especially your incorporation of the word “hope” throughout all of it. Praise God for the eternal Hope that we have in Him.
Sincerely, Serving Him
I am thankful for you Iris and the TT bunch as well!
How cool is this — my word was Grace? I am so thankful for the grace of God.
Love Thursdays — thanks so much for hosting and sharing your heart. I made it this week!! Yeah!
praying for your son
well done for getting a good annual review at your work.
Iris, the plug in works great. I love that it uses actual words instead of a series of letters that is hard to read!
I’m thinking hope makes us thankful.
I am also thankful for our upcoming vacation……I am in need of it badly right now!
I am also in need of some hope so thanks for posting this today!
Blessings
That is fantastic about your washing machine.
Congratulations on the raise, review and new washer. There is nothing quite like a new washer and dryer . . . except maybe a new dishwasher. 🙂 Have a great Thursday.
Nice list again. I’m always encouraged by hope (that’s what my name means). I will pray your son gets a job.
I’m thankful for my health, my family’s health, and for this wonderful meme that I’ve just found.
Great List as always Iris. I know, Our vacation isn’t until September either – I hope I can make it 🙂 I loved your list of hopes. Have a blessed day!
So excited for you to take a vacation with your sweetheart in September! Praying for your son *and* your washing machine! 😉 It’s crazy how many people are participating. It’s 5:30 am central time and I’m number 26!
You’re blessing the whole Internet, Iris!
Great list, and lots of great reminders of things to be grateful for.
Reese
I just prayed for your son.
Wow, way to go at the job–hope you get a fat bonus, and yes, Praise God for our health, too–we’re so blessed.
Glad you’re enjoying the pen you got from my son!
Wonderful list! Praying for your son. Thanks for sharing.
Your hearts inspired me to make bullets this morning. I used daisies.
Your TT is never boring, its always encouraging. I like the way you incorporated the hope message.
I like the anti-spam words. Good job.
Hope and thankfulness are wonderful. Thank you, as always, for reminding us to be thankful each week.
Great thankful list! Read these every week, but decided to join you this week. I’ll keep your son in my prayers during his job search. I know how difficult that can be. Thank you for hosting.
So nice reading your list!
Sorry you had to put the anti-spam word in, but seriously, we don’t mind!! 🙂 It’s hope that sustains us…praise the Lord!
Wonderful list! Best wishes for your son during his job hunt! And, your spam work is no problem. I haven’t seen one so easy to read before!
Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; Job 13:15. To have the Hope of Job! You have an amazingly hopeful list. God Bless Your Day!
I just posted at Remain in the Vine. I love your themes and the theme of Hope today! You are such an encouragement, Iris! 🙂
“but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.” –Isaiah 40:31
(I am thankful for this verse, too!!!) God will get you through til your vacation Dear One. Just keep your eyes and heart turned toward Him.
Have a great day!!
Love,
Susanne
I hope you get that raise! Just think of all the friends you could visit in Canada when you’re rolling in the dough…
Morning Iris. I love this wonderful list. I think hope is what keeps us going much of the time because our hope is in Him. And He never fails.
I have been so rushed lately. I just stopped by quickly before we head out the door. My hubby is going to help my Dad with a bit of plumbing at their house. I hope to have time to write a Thankful Post this evening. In the meantime – I am so thankful for you and the blessing you are in my life.
That was very good and very timely, Iris…thank you for posting that.
I don’t think anyone minds at all that you have to do something about the spam. That’s just way too much spam to deal with. I just wish you hadn’t told me you get to choose the security word – I was absolutely sure it was a sign from above. LOL
I’ll say a little prayer for your son – believe me I know how discouraging job hunting can be. Tell him if my 63 year old husband can land a great new job, he will too!
Thank you so much for hosting this and we understand if you can’t get around to all of us. I’m happy to see so many participating. It is very helpful!
May God bless you mightily!
I so needed to read this today! I am thankful for Thankful Thursday and the way God has used it to remind me of things I needed to be reminded of right now. Praying that God will bless you as you hope in Him in all things…
Hello,
I so much wanted to be part of this. I am thankful I got to get started! Thank you for hosting.
I love the new word verification–pretty cool.
Thanks for doing these days. I always feel to pumped up after making my list.
And look at all the thankful women!
Don’t worry about getting around–we know you are there.
Wonderful list, Iris, and it could never be too long!
Lovely list — especially the keyword HOPE throughout. ThanX for helping me center myself around thankfulness today. Appreciate this forum.
I am new at this blogging but I am very thankful for the wonderful posts I have read so far and the blessings I have received from so many of the blogs.
I am thankful! I was just thinking how I love how you used “Hope” in all your thankfuls…and then you’re anti-spam word was “Grace” I love these words! My oldest daughter’s middle name is Grace, my youngest daughter’s middle name is Joy. I always thought that if I have more girls, I want to have their middle names be Hope and Faith. All of these are awesome reminder’s of our great Saviour and His love. Thank you for hosting this wonderful uplifting theme.
Blessings-
Andie
I love your list Iris.
Thanks for giving a direction–hope is good!!
Thanks for your note on my blog. You are a great encouragement to me and I love spending time at your place! And, thanks for the nice comment about my husband too ~ he is pretty tired right now when he gets home. That’s life in the military ~ but his replacement for one of the jobs will arrive on island at the end of June and then he will be working in only one job. Thanks again!
I do hope you get a great review in your work. You deserve it, Iris! Yes, I too am constantly thankful for good health. I actually enrolled in a gym just the other day (finally, 7 months after childbirth!) and I am starting today. I’m excited to get back in shape! 🙂
God bless!
I am so glad you were able to visit my blog. I love how your auntie lives in Australia. I know places where there are groups of people originally from Germany, I live in one, have been for 3 years, and have been learning how to cook German foods.
Late again.. but I’m here….
