What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:7

  • I am thankful for His guidance in my current job. I tell you it is not easy to keep smiling when everyone around you is either grumpy or too busy for a simple “Good morning”. Would you believe me that I ‘hear’ God more often now than when I was working in the church office? Or do I actually listen for His small voice more now? I am just glad that I am in His hands and He guides my heart and mind…
  • I am thankful that my Sweetheart is doing much better tonight. He had, for the second time in two weeks, a dizzy spell last night. The entire room was spinning in front of his eyes. I was ready to throw my jeans back on and drive him to the E.R. (thank you Jamie for the emergency prayer you lifted up)
  • I am thankful for Ruben’s baptism on the 4th of July. What a double celebration! 😛
  • I am thankful for the rain this morning. Although no one seems to be able to drive if it rains in the Valley of the Sun, I made it safe to work…
  • I am thankful for my health and able to work on a daily basis.
  • I am thankful that I able to submit my favorite female bloggers to Sallie for the ‘Blog of Beauty Awards
  • And I am thankful that I live in this free country, with internet access and cable TV, so I can watch the German soccer team play in the World Cup (even now they ‘only’ can play for the 3rd place – not bad at all, but then again that is just my humble opinion )

  1. Is your hubby ok? Do the doctors know what is causing the dizzy spells? I am sending you prayers.

I still haven’t voted yet for the awrds – I need to hurry up and do that!!

  2. Hope those dizzy spells have no meaning at all… and let’s think positive- Germany can reach 3.place, which isn’t bad . Happy thursday!

  3. Hi again!
It’s li’l ol’ me! I’m here to answer your question you left in my comments — The Pirate movie…tomorrow is POTC – Dead Man’s Chest –it’s the 2nd in the trilogy. Pirates of the Caribbean – The Curse of the Black Pearl was the 1st –3 years ago. Dead Man’s Chest–tomorrow is the 2nd, and as I’ve read they’re filming the 3rd of the series—yet to be titled. But, I’ve read that it could be POTC – World’s End, OR POTC-Uncharted Waters — but as for anything for sure, it’s not really known yet.

    Hope that helps.

  4. Good Morning Iris. Hope your hubby is feeling much better. I worked with a lady once that found out her dizziness was from inner ear problems.

    Wonderful list!

  5. Sure hope that hubs is okay! You do have so much to be thankful for. 🙂
I hope you have a wonderful day, Iris!
    HUgs to you!

  6. I suggest you have hubby’s blood sugar checked too aside from his ear. These two are the possible causes of dizziness.

You’re right. It is really difficult to be smiling when you have grumpy people around you but with God’s guidance, we are coping very well.

    Cheers!

  7. Such wonderful things to be thankful for. If you could, pray for my hubby today because at 6pm he has an important phone call that could be the difference between living where we are and moving to NYC. Thanks!

  9. I know what you mean about how har it is to stay positive and stay smiling when everyone around you is negative and grumpy. I deal with at on my job daily. I have to keep a bible in my desk drawer and go to it at times when I need to just read some uplifting scripture.

Have a great Thursday… I went and visited She Lives.. How awesome that was….Praise God.

  10. Iris, hope your hubby is okay–let me know. Thanks for your email yesterday. I had to smile when you mentioned the folks at work. Sounds like the office I used to work in–everybody was completely consumed with themselves most days. The Lord is good to minister His grace to you, though. Isn’t He the best? Love you and sending hugs!
