“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!”
~ Psalm 30:11-12 (ESV – emphasis mine)
- I am thankful for God’s protection and faithfulness. Every morning He puts a song in my head that I gladly sing throughout the day. It gets me through the rough spots in the day…
- I am thankful for my Sweetheart’s healing. Although he still has headaches, but the wooziness is gone — PTL….We have determined that the dizzy spells come from his allergy medication…
- I am thankful for my praying friends. Thank you, Ladies. You are a blessing to me…
- I am thankful that our son might has the opportunity to make a dream come true. He put in for a transfer to Japan with his company. If it works out, they will pay for the move. We will know for sure in 2-3 months. He is all excited and we are with him. Although, Japan is a very long way away from home 😥 …
- I am thankful that CWO has another writing contest this year. Please check it out in this month’s issue. Too bad that I can not participate…
- I am thankful that my “Moods” plugin in fixed. I kept ‘loosing’ my moods since TNChick had helped me to up-grade to WP 2.1 (okay-she did the entire up-grade). Thanks to Kevin at Coding All Hours, my moods are ‘fixed’ now. Thank you Kevin for fixing my favorite WP plugin…
- Last, but not least, I am thankful that we have food on the table and a roof over our head…

Japan, wow that is so awesome. I am very glad that your husband is feeling better. Blessings to you sweety.
Psalm 30 is what I read this morning!! How cool is that? Even cooler is that as I was reading it, I dwelt on those particular verses for a while. Thanks for this. 🙂
Isnt it awesome how God is so faithful.
He was putting a special song in my mind when I was goping through a rough time last year. It was good made me turn back to Him and place my trust in Him.
Praying for your hubby and your son
I often am thankful for food on the table and a roof over our heads especially as I am on a tight budget
Thank you for sharing, Iris! Always blessed by this meme.
hi iris! Glad to hear your hubby’s feeling better already. Gee, must be tough to be away from your son — and at the other side of the world, if ever! He will be much closer to me! haha!
God bless you and the rest of your week, iris!
Good Morning, Iris! So glad to hear hubby is better. Sometimes that allergy medication can be more trouble than it’s worth! That’s awesome news about your son. WOW, Japan. Will add that to the prayer list.
Blessings to you Iris.
Japan! How exciting!
Glad to know your sweetheart is better! Allergy medication can be pretty potent!
I’ll pray for your son–what an opportunity!
What a very good list. Thanks for including me.
That is so exciting for your son! I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers! Blessings today!
Thanks again for hosting–I know this is a big commitment.
Wow–too cool about your son! Japan sounds exciting! It’s so hard, though to watch our children move off, even though we’re happy for them. :0)
Many Blessings!
I love this list, it shows God’s faithfulness in every area. Thank you so much for posting this today!
I know that it will be hard to “let” your son go to Japan, but what a blessing. I know that he appreciates having his parents support. Have a wonderful week!
Iris,
Just this morning I was reading in Psalms this verse: Psalms 50: 23 But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me.
Everytime I read your Thankful Thursday posts I see you before the throne and He is honored. What a sweet blessing in His eye. Have a great Thrusday. 🙂
Struggling today, but finding something to be thankful for, even if it is a bit light-hearted. Need to thank Him for ALL things, even the silly ones….
Thank you again for sharing your list. It’s such a blessing to hear other people sharing their thankful thoughts.
This is the first time I’ve done Thankful Thursday, but I will do it again. I think it is good to count your blessings as much and as often as possible!
Also , thanks for this opportunity to get my thoughts noticed!

I agree with Linda…I look forward to it too….(and even reminded my friend that she had to do hers!)
Thank you for hosting Thankful Thursday. It’s great to make yourself stop and think about what you’re thankful for even during a bad week.
Wonderful scripture pick. I am glad you got your moods worked out, I have WP 1.5 and I am still have trouble with mine. Your last one.. your thankful that you have food on the table and a roof over your head… it is so great to be aware that this is a blessings.. many people in America will not one or either of those things tonight. God Bless.
Hi Iris-
I’m glad to hear that your hubby is doing better. Hopefully you all get get his medicine changed. I love the pictures of your puppy dogs you sent me. With those long toenails, Zoey reminds me a lot of a Rhodesian Ridgeback a friend of mine had. It sure looks like the 2 of them are friends. I’ll be praying for your son’s job. Although I don’t know if I could stand seeing my girls move across the globe. Yikes that would be hard! Keep us up to date on what happens!
Blessings-Jennifer
Japan?!?! Oh wow. That’s…huge! What kind of work does he do?
I needed to read these today…thank you for sharing!
Happy Thursday, Iris! Can’t tell how what good medicine it has been to stop each week and GIVE THANKS to the One who is so deserving of all our praise! How good it is to give thanks to God…what a blessing to share and be shared with. Have a blessed weekend…love in Him!
Am thankful your DH is doing better – that’s a blessing. So happy for you son – tho I know that makes you a bit sad as he may move… but ya’ll seem so close I’m sure you’ll remain that close, if he moves. Prayers will help, too.
