“The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” ~ Psalm 28:7 (ESV)
No special thoughts this week, because my brain is on overload over the last couple of weeks. Today I just want to thank my Lord for the His work in my life and for the things around me…
- Thank You Lord for never giving up on me. I praise You that You always seem to find someone or something that will lead me back on the narrow path…away from the path of destruction…
- Thank You Lord for the beautiful spring weather we are still enjoying here in Arizona…
- Thank You Lord for showing me what I needed to get rid off in my life so I am able to fix my eyes on eternal things again…
- Thank You Lord for lifting my spirits. It was so wonderful to have Daniel home for a couple of hours this past weekend…
- Thank You Lord for the quality time my beloved and I had over this long weekend. It was wonderful to smile and even laugh again…
- Thank You Lord for Your incredible mercy and grace…The only thing I can do is praise Your name because of it…
- Thank You Lord for my mom who always will have an encouraging word for me…
- Thank You Lord for wonderful girlfriends in God who are patient, loving and praying…I wouldn’t know what I would do without Your servants who are willing to reach out to the hurting…
- Thank You Lord for music. Worship music is the best thing that will get me through a workday…
- Last but not least – Thank You Lord for preachers and teachers that are willing to share Your Word with all of us who are willing to listen…
What are you thankful for this week? Would you like to share your thoughts with us? Please leave your link below…

I found myself going through your list saying “amen, amen, amen” great list and so true. Have a wonderful rest of the week.
The weather’s great here too – it’s such a blessing. That bit about your mother touched me – I echo your thanks -for my mother who’s always been there for me, for us.
Have a wonderful week.
Hi Iris, its wonderful that you got to spend good time with your beloved. I wish you many more of such.
It can hurt when God asks us to rid ourselves of some stuff in our lives…pruning. But the effect…WOW!
Thanks for hosting Thankful Thursday!
Hey Iris! It’s been awhile for me and Thankful Thursday! I so appreciate you giving all of us the opportunity to see God working, even in the small things!
Hi Iris,
Once again I too can echo your words of thanks here. I say amen to each as well. Also, number three is especially for me. Love you.
Iris, as usual, you help focus our hearts on the One who is truly worthy to receive our praise and thanksgiving~ even when we are going through difficult circumstances! Thanks for sharing…..
Blessings, friend.
Thanks for sharing TT. You always do a fantastic job. Hope you have a restful weekend.
Hello Iris! I enjoyed your list this week. Random is good too 🙂 I hope you have a nice weekend. I like that Psalm you used. God bless!
One more thing…..on the worship music….Have you heard the new song by Lincoln Brewster? I’ve been hearing it on KLOVE. I am not sure the name but it has “this is the day” in it. It really blessed me to hear it first thing this morning.
Iris, your thankful list make me say “Amen”. I like them very much.
Because of something in my life, I could not come here to share my TT with you about 2 weeks, but I come back again. Thank the Lord.
It is already summer time here, very hot, but these days, everyday is rainy day, lighting, thunder, and heavy rain…..Thank the Lord, everything around me goes well..
Reading your list gave me more reasons to be thankful. I eagerly anticipate reading the others’ lists too.
I am thankful for you my sweet friend, be blessed.
First time to be here and just joined you! I love all the random list. I’m THANKFUL TO HAVE FOUND YOU!

It is wonderful when the Lord brings us closer and closer to Himself by making the things of the world (man’s world) less and less important. Right now with me it is a lesson in possessions – or the need to pare down and remove the clutter that just weighs me down and keeps my focus off of Him. The lessons are hard sometimes, no matter what they may be, but there is such a joy present also in the learning of them that it is so worth it.
Thank you for your lovely list!
Blessings,
Nancy
Its a nice thankful heart and blessings to you and family…
There are a lot of thins to be thankful of and sometimes words are not enough but nevertheless we are still thankful to the Lord. Nice to be back after quite sometime! God is good!
Thanks for your list, Iris – I found myself agreeing with every one of the things you wrote! AMEN!

It is always an encouragement to read why someone else is thankful…it is a blessing and I am thankful TT.
Have a blessed weekend,
Tammy
We discussed John 15 this week in my Bible study class. As much as we don’t like the pruning, we know that it’s necessary so that we can grow more in our faith. And like you, I am always thankful after the fact that He removes things from my life so that I can see Him more clearly.
Thanks, as always, for sharing, Iris.
Hi Iris, This is my first time to participate in Thankful Thursday. I just discovered your blog. What a blessing you are!! I will enjoy coming back and participating again. Have a great day!!!

“Thank You Lord for music. Worship music is the best thing that will get me through a workday”
I can’t tell you how many times I thank God for music….other than man I really believe it to be one of His finest creations. I mean can you just imagine life without music? I have had entire quiet times of singing hymns and thanking God that he gave us music with which to praise Him. It always lifts my spirits.
Thank you for you random thankful heart today.
Great post, sometimes is the everyday things we need to be thankful for the most ~ or at least from time to time. God is good
Great list, Iris. Sometimes the most profound cloaks itself in the simplest garb.
Love the list, Iris. Such wonderful things to be thankful for.
I am SO late today…LOL; Thank You Lord for never giving up on me. I praise You that You always seem to find someone or something that will lead me back on the narrow path…away from the path of destruction… This is so true and we have had so many mindful reminders this past week.

IRIS…AMEN!!! as always…I just realized that when I read this, I forgot to make a comment. each week, I am so lifted and blessed by your grateful heart! Your TT list always makes me reflect on each aspect you encompass and give thanks! I LOVE PSALM 28…I can see by your thanks to your mom where you get such a beautiful spirit of thankfulness…from an encourager…that’s just aMazing! I need to
thank the Lord with you for WORSHIP, FRIENDS, and each one that you mentioned for how HE is ever faithful in every aspect that you declared!!! Praise the Lord! I just can’t thank Him for the weather like you did…but I’m so thankful I’m not traveling across the storms of the midwest right now! I pray for all the people left in utter destruction from these natural disasters, and thank God, I have been spared!!! Bless you…as you have blessed me once more, Peggy
