“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” ~ Colossians 3:16-17 (ESV)
Wow, another Thursday 🙂 . Where do the weeks go? I am so looking forward to September–it means VACATION time…You don’t know how much I need one…Anyway, I am thankful that it is Thursday and we are able to share our thankfulness with each other…
- I am thankful for God’s Word. Every time I get into a stress situation, His Word pops into my heart to calm my fears about the future. I am glad that His word changed my heart on Sunday afternoon…
- I am thankful that I had some time with my Sweetheart on Saturday — just the two of us. Our son had to work, so it was nice just to hang out and go with the flow…
- I am thankful that I had a fun time with our son on Sunday afternoon. Just laughing was a good medicine…
- I am thankful that I am healthy enough to do all the things I am doing…
- I am thankful for the funny things my Sweetheart says – he makes me laugh out loud – sometimes I even snort, because I am laughing so hard (it can get embarrassing – my snorting – especially in public 😉 )…
- I am thankful that it has been a little cooler in the mornings…ah – looking forward to fall…
- I am thankful that I kicked the pop-habit. I started to drink iced-tea – green iced tea…Is that healthy? I don’t know, but certainly is better than pop 😀 …
- I am thankful that I was able to scrap some pages the last couple of nights — what fun…
- I am thankful for all the wonderful awards Sting My Heart received over the last couple of weeks. I will hopefully have a more detailed post on Friday about it. Thank you, Ladies for your generous hearts…
What are you thankful for this week? Please do share with us — add your link below (but you know the drill). It is always such a blessings — I actually made it to all 73 (and than some) participants last week 😛 . As your time permits, please visit other Thankful Gals.
Blessings on your Thursday and as always…

Ah, cooler mornings… still waiting for that. 😉 Sounds like you had a lovely week. I too am looking forward to a short September vacation. My God bless you this week.
I’m so ready for Fall too. I love Fall.
I love this list, Iris. Thanks so much for hosting TT. It has changed my life and my heart.
Blessings!
Deidre
So many precious blessings to be thankful for Iris. I love the one about laughter. I sometimes get laughing so hard I can hardly breathe. It’s a wonderful “medicine”.
Wonderful list of thanksgiving. I laughed out loud about your snort – I do the exact same thing when I get really tickled…a little something I am proud to have inherited from my grandmother.
I’m with you sugar-pie on the “fall”—-so ready for it! Living in Florida is hot-humid-sticky—did I mention humid?
I laughed when I read your “snort” —made me think of my oldest…she has always snorted! It’s endearing!
I need to send you an e-mail I got this week….It was Monday…I laughed till I thought I’d —well you get the picture!
I so love Thursdays!
I loved looking at your layouts, you are getting good girl!! I also enjoyed your list, snort and all =))
Ah, as for the tea, as long as you don’t end up dehydrated. I heard teas are de…di…uh…I forgot the word. Something that makes you want to pee all the time. Like laxative wants to make you bake chocolate cakes all the time. I forgot the word, but you get what I mean, haha.
Isn’t it wonderful to have a husband who makes you laugh? Mine did again tonight, too, and I so needed it! Everyone needs to *snort* occasionally! 🙂
My first time to do this weekly meme. Please let me know if I didnt get something quite right. xoxoxo
Enjoy your TT very much. This morning it is cool, too. The breeze makes me comfortable.
September is near to come, so prepare for your vocation in your heart….
Girl,
I am looking forward to fall also… When I lived in LV…. I would look towards October with such longing. My heart is there with you…. Considering where you were raised, the heat is probably very hard on you.
Love you…. Praying for you…. Love , me
LOL at Lynn’s comment…I would look forward to November when I lived in LV. 🙂
I am SO happy you are drinking iced green tea—it’s very healthy for you and no aspartame!
Praying for cooler mornings for you, friend!
Blessings~
I love the cooler weather myself. Blessings.
What an uplifting idea! I’m thankful to have found a place to share and read about these things. I came across this when reading another person’s blog. I think it is good to think upon these things.
Hey I snort too……..LOL! We could be the snort sisters……LOL!
Green iced-tea? Hmmmm…… I haven’t tried that before…….
Yep, vacation is almost here……
I was starting to wonder if you had already gone……….
🙂
Rain brought us some respite from the high humidity we’ve been having in Nebraska lately. Whew!! Thanks for being a gracious host!
Thank you for sharing your blessings. God gives us so much to be thankful for, doesn’t He? I loved your comment about the snorting when you laugh – me too! It can be embarrassing. LOL I love fall, too, and I can’t wait for it to arrive. It’s been cooler here and I’m loving it. Take care and God bless you.
I love green iced tea! I’ve been drinking that a lot nowadays… i was never really a fan of soda to begin with, so it was the regular lemon iced tea that got my addiction. Now green tea is a healthier option for me, plus I heard it burn fat better, since I now go to the gym twice a week (at least, i try, hehe). God bless, Iris!
I enjoyed your thankful list sweet Iris.
My first time…but this is A-ok! Indeed, just by being alive, we are already blessed.
oh I can SO relate to your list this week, I need to get off the caffeine and drink more water etc AND I need God’s word back in my life!
Can you send some cooler mornings here? The heat is exhausting 🙂
Great list! Fun times with your sweetheart is the best.
Did you just say Pop? That is so northern, this coming from a Southern girl! 🙂 Green iced-tea? Well, I would say that is healthy! Good for you Iris!! Happy Thursday!
I’m thankful too for all that is on your list,
and also thankful you:)
God Bless!
Yes, c’mon fall! It’s been over 100 heat index here lately. Whew! I’m so glad you had some time with your sweetheart and your son recently. That refreshes the heart like nothing else, doesn’t it? Thanks for hosting!
Thanks, as always, for hosting this wonderful meme. I can’t wait for the cooler weather of Fall, myself… Luckily it will cool down before this pg gets too much further along! 😉
I am ready for all, too. It is entirely too hot right now! I really enjoyed your list! Blessings to you, Iris!
I honestly think God has an odd sense of humor! My security word today was Mercy — if you read my post, I specifically ended it with needing alot of that today! LOL! Thanks for sharing your heart~!
Iris enjoyed your list this morning. And thank you for sponsoring TT, while we should be thankful everyday I have found it refreshing to stop and actually write out a list. I have found over the weeks as I’ve participated in TT that I am more mindful of being thankful in all things, regardless of my circumstances. Blessings to you!
Vacation…what a blessing and something to look forward to. Thank you for hosting the Thankful Thursday. This has become my favorite blogging day! I may miss every other day of the week, but ALWAYS hit TT!! It really helps me to think on all my blessings…thanks for such a great reminder!
Blessings to you-Andie
It says I have a duplicate comment…I don’t remember typing this!!! 🙂 Hopefully this will make it think it’s new and origional!!! 🙂
OOPS!!! 🙂
Hello Iris,
Cooler mornings! Oh I wish. I too am looking forward to Fall. This is our hottest month. And pop, I haven’t had one since a week ago Tuesday and I don’t miss them. I have been drinking water and decaf tea. I mix my green with some oarnge/black because it is too weak otherwise.. Loved your thankful list. J and I are going on vacation in September also.
Mama Bear
Thanks for hosting! Being Thankful is an everyday habit we should be in!
Isn’t it wonderful to be thankful and to see these blessings!!?? I too quit drinking pop quite a bit ago. I now drink Liptons cold Green tea (diet) or the White Tea. I love it and with 0 Calories I figure it HAS to be better than pop!! I also have been able to get some scrapbooking done lately too. Quite an accompolishment. I am off to Women of Faith in just a few hours. I am going to Atlanta with our church group!! Sandy
I am also thankful for all of the thankful thursday posts…I needed to think about htis today!
Fall is my FAVORITE, FAVORITE season! Thank you for this Thankful Thursday activity. It has done wonders for me and my outlook in life! 🙂
I love your list this week. I also love September, it’s my daughters birthday month, she’s turning 5.
Have a wonderful weekend.
First time participating here! Lots to be thankful for!
I love your list! I love the cooler weather too, but my allergies are harder to deal with in the fall. Congrats on breaking the pop habit! I love iced tea (never had green tea though)! Oh, and thanks for hosting Thankful Thursdays!
Laughter is definitely good medicine. So glad you got to spend time with your son and hubby. I kicked the pop habit about 5 years ago and now I can’t even stand to taste it. Once you get used to it, you can’t go back.
Thank you for sharing your thankful heart.
Have a blessed weekend my friend.
Hugs,
Lyndy
What a great reason to pause and reflect… thank you for Thankful Thursdays.
I really enjoyed reading your list. Laughter is good medicine indeed. I wish my hubby would kick the pop habit too. 😮 I am praying. Green tea is a lot better for you than pop, yes. I have a close friend, she is my SIL, she laughs till she snorts too and we LOVE it. Be blessed and thanks so much for the Thankful Thursday. I could be sad, mad, or whatever other emotion might be trying to come on me and when I sit to write the things I am thankful for on Thursday it really blesses my whole day:) I can’t help but smile and joy enters my heart as I think of the goodness of God and all He has done (is doing) for me.TY
Stacy
I enjoyed your list. I had not visited your blog in quite a while, so I really need to get caught up on things. Sorry I have fallen out of touch.
Praying for you and yours.
Melissa
I just love Thankful Thursday. Thank you for hosting. God is so good.
I really enjoy having this day to focus on what God is doing in my life.
It is good to put our thankfulness into words and see it written down.
I think sometimes we get so busy with life, that we tend to foget who
it is that is getting us through life.
Good grief — SO MUCH to be thankful for today, but thanks to Beth and Living Proof I’m reminded that God still works miracles!!!! PRAISE HIM — HE IS WORTHY!!!
All this and Jesus, too!
Dori
Iris, that is excellent about giving up soda pop. It is very bad for you and tea is actually very good for you in many, many ways. I am a HUGE tea drinker, hot and cold. There are a lot of places online that share the benefits of tea – here is one – http://www.health.harvard.edu/press_releases/benefit_of_drinking_green_tea.htm
God Bless and you have so much to be thankful for. God is so good!
I am still blown away by how many of us are part of this. Thank you again for hosting.
