The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
~ Psalm 9:9-10 (ESV ~ emphasis mine
One of the definitions in Webster for trust is: 1 a: assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something b: ONE in which confidence is placed…
Trust has come up several times this week, so I thought it would be a good basis for my Thankful Thursday post this week.
- Lord, I am thankful that I can put my trust in You alone. Although I do not understand Your ways sometimes, I know that everything will work out for the good for the ones who love You…
- Lord, I am thankful that I can trust You to work everything out for a very special friend of mine. Lord, I can trust that You will give her peace that surpasses all human understanding…
- Lord, I am thankful that I can trust You answering my prayers. Maybe the outcome is not what I am hoping for, but I know that Your ways are higher than mine…
- Lord, I am thankful that I can trust You guiding our son in his future. I know that he himself is uncertain right now, but I know that You already have a plan for him…
- Lord, I am thankful that I can trust You to protect our marriage from the enemy. Lord, I pray that You put a hedge around it as You have for the past 25 years…
- Lord, I am thankful for every day You are giving me this side of heaven. I might not know the hour You are calling me home, but I trust that You will keep me in Your grace until I come Home…
Oh, my sweet sisters, there are so many things on my heart I want to share, but I just don’t seem to find the time to post about them. I will trust the Lord that when the time is right to share, that He will give me just that – time…

I can always relate to whatever you post about Iris, I also pray that God guides my children too…
Thank you for that passage, I think I am going to put it on a sticky note for me to stare at and meditate on. Thank you for your friendship and prayers, I don’t feel worthy but I praise God I have it =) Praying for your son, I have been wondering about the possible overseas thing. Praying the Lord will guide him.
Have a great day.
The Lord is worthy of our trust! Sometimes thought the circumstance tells us “no”,but the Lord will tell us “yes” when he time comes. Let us put our trust on HIM and fix our eyes on HIM. Let us encourage and comfort and help and love each other here together. I pray that the Lord put trust in every one of your family memebers to each other.
Beautiful, just like your heart.
Ooooo…I love that scripture, Iris. I need to read that again. Thank you so much for hosting this each week. It’s good for my soul!
I love your post. This keeps my feett on the ground and stay calm despite the chaos in the environment.
Like you, I put my trust in Him.
Please help me pray to pass my licensure exam. This will be my second attempt but as what you have said “everything will work out for the good”.
Thank you for the inspiration.

Beautiful post from one with a beautiful heart.
Thanks for sharing your thankful thoughts. You open my mind so that I may see that to trust in HIM is blessing enough.
What a wonderful post and a great reminder. Thank you for sharing.
~Betty~
I can relate with what you said…especially about what you said about marriage. I just thank God I can trust him to care of us
Hi Iris, I enjoy reading this post. It serves as a very good reminder for me too.
Trusting Him…..this is so simple, but yet so difficult. *sigh* If I could just get the flesh under control………..
Iris, my hubby is about to run me out of the comptuer room.. LOL! (He wants his turn) I’ll be back tomorrow to leave you a “real comment.”
NIGHT!
LOVE YOU! 🙂
Can’t spell when in a hurry.. lol..
* COMPUTER – see, I really did know how to spell it. ha!!
Thank you for the reminder…
Iris,
thanks for hosting this. I am new to Thankful Thursday but I have been very encouraged to read of the many things you and others are thanking the Lord for. I am learning to be more thankful daily. Thank God that we can trust in Him to guide us through this life, to provide for us and enable us to live for Him. Glad you are able to trust in Him for many things in your life. May God bless you abundantly!

This is a perfect (and God is so perfect in His ways) for this weeks “TT” post. My husband, Praise the Lord, and I are just being called by God and it’s been an awe-inspiring week that has called for a LOT of trust in God’s will and work and I can’t stop praising our Heavenly Father for what He is doing with us.
I pray you forgive me for I will try to get to as many people’s post as possible.
I’ve been called to take care of home, family and God this week so my time on the computer is going to be erratic…Praise God though for I am at His mercy and Love and being called to take care of some bless worthy tasks!
Iris,
Beautiful post! Everything on your own list should be on mine! I am sure that you are right about sharing everything on your heart in God’s time.
I have faith that the Lord will guide my son, too … 🙂
Beautiful list Iris! I too love that scripture. I reallly love how the ESV reads, I want one of those new study bibles when it comes out in October 🙂 Thank you for hosting each week – you are an encouragment and blessing.
Amen.
There are a lot of things going on in your life (mine too) where we can choose to fret and worry or we can choose to trust. He’s been trustworthy in the past, so I guess I have good reason to trust He’ll continue to be trustworthy.
Oh, Iris, Amen! Just what I needed to be reminded about today! Our God is trustworthy and He loves us so much! I am so thankful that I can totally release all of my cares on Him and that He will work all things together for good. Thanks, again for the precious reminder to give it all, surrender it all to Him.
Blessings, sweet Sister!
Beautiful! I like the idea of picking a characteristic of God and focusing on why I am thankful for it!
I am so thankful we have a God we can trust. There are so many who are following a god that ruins and destroys…but God Most High, our Father in heaven is worthy of our trust and our praise. He has proven Himself to be trustworthy. Thank you Iris for sharing this with us…
This one … Lord, I am thankful that I can trust You answering my prayers. Maybe the outcome is not what I am hoping for, but I know that Your ways are higher than mine… … especially stood out for me today. Have a blessed week!
Thank you Iris for your post and for hosting TT. You have been a blessing to my life and to the lives of several women out there. May you continue to rest assured in his never-tiring arms.
Morning, my FRIEND! I came by last night long enough to sign in, but my hubby was wanting to check his email before bed. I hated to come by without leaving a message so I left a quick explanation and RAN! LOL!
Your “TT” post was a blessing as always. It’s so obvious that you have a THANKFUL heart indeed. I also LOVED the graphic you made. (If that’s what it’s called) It’s a GREAT picture of you and the quote is AWESOME! I meant to comment on it yesterday when I stopped by but for whatever reason I didn’t.
I hope you’re having an AMAZING week…. 😉
LOVE YOU!
Good morning! I enjoyed this post, how wonderful to stop and think about all the things….big and small….we trust God for.
Have a blessed day!
Oh, what a great post! TRUST . . . some days that is so hard to do, yet how life seems to get easier when we cast our cares to HIM and trust HIM in all things! Thanks for blessing me this morning!
I’m thankful for you! Great Post!! Great Theme too! Have a Wonderful Week!
Love In His Name,
Keisha
Iris, thanks for this reminder to trust the Lord. It is certainly something I struggle with deeply.
I’m sitting this TT out, as it is too busy to read everyone else’s posts today as I’m preparing to watch my friend’s daughters for the next five days! Who, whoooo!
But I am going to try to thank God for all things through out the day and keep a running list of praise in my mind and heart.
Thanks for hosting!
Blessings,
Elisa
Hey Iris, Our son was unsure of his future also. But God has been so faithful to lead him step by step into the right direction. I’m so very thankful. I’m also thankful and encouraged to hear you praying for protection on your marriage. A good marriage doesn’t just happen. Right? We have to work at it and we have to fight for it. Just as you ask God for protection, you’re fighting for your marriage. So thank you for putting that out there. Love you dear sister. You are a blessing.
Your post spoke right to my heart! God is my strength and I am trusting in Him, especially in this tremendously hard trial I have found myself in the midst of. It is amazing how when we keep our eyes on Him and keep His Word in our hearts and minds that He provides exactly what we need to make it through the day! Thanks for sharing!
Perfect timing as God is calling me into the deep. Oh how I need to trust Him!
Thanks so much, Iris.
Happy TT.
Dearest Iris,
Happy TT to you. Once again I’m thankful for YOU!! Wow, your scripture and theme for today could not have possibly came at a BETTER time!
Thanks for being sensitive the HS!
Blessings to you my friend?
So good to know how God is leading those who rest in His strength and love.
Iris, loved your thankful post for today. I esp liked the part about your son since I have one too. And the Lord letting you find the time. Beautiful. Thank you for doing it.
Almost didn’t do one. But when I came here….and read your scripture…then had an e-mail from Kim at Seasons of my Heart….and it just fell out. I suppose being truly thankful…can’t help but fall out when it’s nudged.
I was (am) just struggling today. Tomorrow, is another day.
I love you—drinking from an overflowing cup.
🙂
We must have been on the same page today. I am all about answered prayers right now. Even if they aren’t answered MY way, it’s so good to know we have a listening Lord.
Great post. Love your scripture. Hope you have a good day! God Bless~
Amen, Iris. May He enable us all.
Great post. Thanks for all the other links. It’s nice to see so many thankful people!!
Trust…I’ve witnessed child like trust this week while my grandchildren have been with me for a visit. What joy our Father must have in His heart when we rely on Him with the same child like trust as our little ones.
Have a blessed week.
Thank you “Sting my Heart” for your Thankful Thursday creative idea and TRUST!
Your 6 prayer petitions are genuine and from the heart! I could hear my own voice amidst your prayer. Thank you that you took the time! I appreciate the reminder to PUT my TRUST in HIM each day! I trust your Thankful Thursday was blessed as much as this has blest me! Thank You Iris…Peggy P.S. I sent you and email to tell me how to do this but I guess I figured it out….so Thanks anyway.
Great way to remind me to be thankful in all things. Thank you!!
I really enjoyed your post today. He has reminded me all week to trust in him. Be blessed,
Stacy
Hey girl–
I am so glad to see so many participating in TT.
And your post really hits a sore spot in my life right now. I guess it is so easy to say we TRUST until it is really put to the test.
We can either stand when the wind is blowing or run and hide in a corner.
I know that I have been spending much time hiding in the corner. 🙁
But like you said -He will work all things together for our good.
I so want to be at that finish line when the good shows up.
Keep up the good work–womens lives are being touched.
I loved this topic. It stretched me. Which is great! Thanks!
kim
I always pray for our marriage too. I think it’s a good idea to keep the hedge thick and tall.
amen! what a great reminder —no matter what mountains stares us in the face, the Lord will not and has not left us or forsaken us!
have a wonderful weekend dear friend!
