Thanksful Thursday ~ Compassion

What Sting My Heart is thankful for this week

The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;
~ Psalm 103:8-9 (NIV)

  • I am thankful for God’s compassion. We don’t have to clean up our act in order for Him to welcome us with open arms. I have said it before, I mess up on a daily basis. I am not saying that I want to mess up, I just do…
  • I am thankful that I have the opportunity to work in the ‘world’ again. It gives me the opportunity to be His hands and feet and testify about His compassion…
  • I am thankful for my Sweetheart. You see, he is not a “gushy” guy, but he loves me the way I am. And sometimes he just says things that melt my heart…
  • I am thankful for the on-line community. It is awesome to find women in the blogsphere that are sharing their life and are encouraging to me or just make me laugh out loud…
  • I am thankful for women like ampraisingHim for praying for people who not yet know Christ as their personal Savior. Please visit her site “My Little Booknook at the Lighthouse” here. She is compiling a list of people to pray for — that God will open their heart and mind to receive the precious gift of salvation…
  • I am thankful for friends like Sissy. She sent me a little surprise this week. Sissy knew that one of my favorite authors is Nancy Kennedy. And Sissy knows Nancy Kennedy – so I got a book signed by the author. Now I just have figure out how to personally thank Nancy.

Sissy's Gift

What are you thankful for this week? Would you care to share?

Blessings on your day and always…

  1. I’m thankful for my lovely sister, my one real sister out of all the 18 steps and halves. Though she’s my “little sister,” she is to me a big sister in so many ways.

  2. Loved your list. And that’s so cool about getting Nancy Kennedy’s book. Sissy is so thoughtful!

Hey, I’m thankful to be over that gag-0-matic stomach flu! Whew! Also thankful that hubby is cancer-free at the moment. And that our newest grandbaby is healthy after having a rough start. Mostly I’m thankful for the Lord’s patience and tenderness with me, not to mention his forgiveness and everlasting love.

You’re a precious sister. Love you bunches!

  3. I thought that this was all about Thanksgiving and that you were all a bit ‘behind’ the times, but there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be thankful at other times! What do you expect from a foreigner. Best wishes

  4. What an awesome surprise! You have some very special friends. :~)

What am I thankful for today? A warm house and warm tea, because we have snow on the ground outside today! (A record cold spell up here in the Northwest.) My husband and I went Christmas shopping in the snow last night. It was a fairyland… truly a delight. I’m thankful for winter… :~)

  5. This is lovely Iris. What an awesome gift! Haven’t gotten mine done today (glad i made my Laced post last night–been sick all day.) So, I am thankful for all you lovely ladies who have been so sweet and aswered my question and who are so very encouraging. And thankful that I seem to be healthier now. 🙂

  6. It’s nice to take the time and think about all the things that we have to be thankful for.
I’m thankful that I have everything I need! I’m also thankful that our God is a forgiving God.
Thank you for the encouragement – I desperately need it!

  7. I”m thankful that I have this Christmas. This year. This day. I may not have next Christmas- that is in the hands of God right now. I’m thankful to be in the here and now.

  8. Today I am particularly thankful for cozy sweaters. It’s 18 degrees outside, the coldest spell so far this season, and I love to wear bulky, comfy, warm sweaters and snuggle inside. Iris, your “thankful thoughts” always resonate with me–your perspective is a delight and encouragement to do likewise.
