As it is the last day of the year 2005, I like to reflect on the past year, which brought much change how I look at things and what is truly important to me…First I was going to use the questions Leann and Blest with Sons have used to reflect on the year, but I am just using the questions to guide my thoughts…
As I said, I (we) have made a lot of changes in 2005, and one of them was to no longer eat McD’s. We had more than one reason, but the main reason was, we watched the movie “Super Size Me“. That changed our habits regarding fast foods (actually that is too long to explain in this post – so maybe a topic for My Lighter Side in 2006).
One of the questions Blest has on her blog: Did you fall in love in 2005? Let me put it this way: I realized what a wonderful, awesome, kind, loving husband I have and I fell in love with him all over. Does that make sense? But you are married 22 years, you say? You know what, sometimes we don’t realize how much we love someone, until God uses some events that changes our understanding of a relationship…Although my short-comings as a wife are a little hard to swallow sometimes, I am glad that the Lord has put me on a new path concerning my marriage! Refreshing indeed!
Another major thing that has happened in 2005, my Sweetheart introduced me to blogging. He didn’t realize that he created a monster (running 3 blogs) in doing so…After I started blogging, I wanted to know more and more. How to created ‘pretty’ things with graphic programs, how to code things. Now I am always asking questions…But hey, that gives us something to chat about – right. I just wish my Sweetheart would blog again, but you see, he is a man of few words. But he created some cool artwork on his PC he could share…Well maybe in 2006.
Who/what did I miss in 2005? My mom spending time in Arizona. She used to come over every other year from Germany, but she has really bad Arthritis in her knees, so the long flight (12 hours with layovers) is too much for her *sigh*.
My goals for 2006: Being a even better wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, co-worker, employee; better writings on my blogs; traveling to San Carlos, Mexico; learn Italian; create “pretty things” with the PC; leading another women’s Bible study; and most of all – following the guidance of my Lord.
I wish all my friends and readers a
All the best to you and your family in 2006 eph.
And yeah, blogging is so addictive isn’t it.
Very nice design BTW, I like it. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by ‘oldguy’…and for the kind comment 🙂
Ow, ow! You beat me on that competition, Eph. Thanks for the comment on my blog.
Like you, I also got started blogging by my significant other. In my case she wanted to start a blog for herself and asked me to check things out and see how it all worked. So I did, and since then she’s posted something like 8 times and I’ve got 218 posts. I am a mite obsessive I guess.
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you and yours, Utenzi…
BTW – just set-up a weblog for my hubby to his birthday tomorrow. Maybe he’ll get going again. His artwork is pretty cool 🙂
Happy New Year ! the glitter tags are so pretty 🙂
Have a blessed 2006
And, I must say blogging is a new hobby for me too. I started this year and was introduced than none other than my significant other as well! 😀
Ohhh…happy new year! (Only 21 minutes late! Oy! I think I was gonna stay up late less this year…but I guess that doesn’t have to start until tonight!)
What a beautiful post. It is so encouraging to hear you falling more deeply in love after 22 years of marriage. We all need those kind of testimonies to marriage!
Funny, my husband is the one who created the blog monster I’ve become, too. I’m so glad he talked me into it!
May you have a blessed New Year.
isn’t it great when God brings our relationship with our husband to yet another level in the journey?
we will have been married 24 yrs this month i’ve never been able to explain or understand how could our relationship be better? but it never ceases that God just gives each of us more love. absolutely amazing!
so blessings to you and may your marriage continue to be more than you could ever imagined!

FELICE ANNO NUOVO, EPH!!!
We have to consider every new beginning with all due respect. It’s very beautiful that you’re so in love with your husband after 22 years! And it’s great that you’ve discovered blogs’ world (in Italian we say: “blogosfera”, you know?) last year: writing it’s the most precious gift that we have.
PS: what a surprise finding on my blog your first sentence in Italian!! Congratulations!!
Yes, I love being in love with my Sweetheart.
Oh, I love writing, but sometimes the English is not coming easy. I have the words in German in my head and sometimes I scramble to have what I want to say come out right – lol…
Felice Anno Nuovo, ELo!!! I really like the Italian lanuage – I think it is romantic…
Happy New Year!! 😀
