2005 Blogs of Beauty Awards

BoB Award SampleHear! Hear!
The 1st “Blogs of Beauty Awards” is hosted & conducted by Sallie at Two Talent Living. This award honors women who make a difference in the Blogging world. Please visit Sallie’s Blog, review the categories and nominate your favorite women Bloggers (men can vote, but not participate in this particular Blog Award).
I already picked my favorite women Bloggers for different categories. This way, I can thank those wonderful ladies, who provide encouragement & spread cheers on a regular basis…
Thank you, Sallie (sorry that I posted three comments; I guess I was just too excited about this award) for undertaking this huge task; and thank you Blest with Sons for posting the link on your Blog this morning. I hope & pray that this will become an annual event…

Here to Stay…

You are wondering why I have changed my template once again? To be honest, this was my first choice when I discovered Cristina’s templates several weeks ago on her site Pannasmontata Templates. Although the other ones I had for several weeks are beautiful, I kept coming back and thinking about using this one for my Blog. I kept asking myself how this template would go with the contents of my Blog. And then it hit me last night…This is who I am, without the grace of my Lord; Psalm 51 popped in my head, especially these two verses (16-17) :

“You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

So here it is, the ‘Sting my Heart’ template, and it is here to stay…

Say Hello to…

…my tenant for the week – The Blog About Nothing (does that remind you of a TV show?). Here is a description in Mike’s own words…

CRIKEY, These are the thoughts and ramblings of an Aussie guy named Mike. He has a blog and a place to air his thoughts. No Kangaroos were harmed in the writing of this blog. Got a question? Leave a question or ask for some advice? I’ll Answer it!

I just want to add: Mike listens to Third Day – one of my favorite Christian Contemporary bands – ha…

Being a Better Witness…

BibleSurfing BE last night, I came across a post by StoneMonkey45 that caught my eye…It is called “Blogging for Jesus”. Strangely I was not even offended by it, but it rather made me sad. Here is an excerpt of the post:

“How come the Blogging for Jesus fraternity never have anything positive to say, why is it always criticism of the way everyone else is living. Is it easier to rise to the top by putting everyone else down instead of working to be a better person yourself?”

Yes, some Christian bloggers come across rather harsh and self-righteous. They do miss the point of God’s forgiveness, grace & mercy. For the most part though, the “Blogging for Jesus fraternity” knows that we have falling short, that we are sinners and in need of a Savior.
In condemning others we condemn ourselves, as Scripture tells us:

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” – Matthew 7:1-2

And Paul in Romans 2:1:

“You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things”.

The other day I read a quote by J. Vernon McGee:

“The only exercise some Christians get is running down others and jumping to conclusions.”

I pray that, through the power of the Holy Spirit, I reflect Jesus’ love for all sinners, especially unbelievers through this blog…And become a better witness to share God’s grace & mercy…
