Seeds in My Heart…

“Just as an inferno begins with but a spark, a field grows vast and plentiful from the sprinkling of seeds”

I had many thoughts come to mind reading this week’s quote — and to be honest – I have no idea where I will go with this post …

I have talked about my dad several times on this blog. He was a wonderful man (yeah – still miss him after 16 years being gone). He was full of wisdom. Sometimes it makes me sad that I can’t remember his face very well – but two things I remember very well – his kindness and his warm smile. I could go to my dad with anything – he took care of me. He taught me many things. My mom always tells me that I have became just like him. And to be honest – I am glad that he planted the seeds in me. Especially the seed fearing and loving God…

There is no greater joy for me than sharing the seed of God’s love with others. Have I ever told you that my great-grandfather from my dad’s side was a pastor? And have I ever told you that I wanted to step out into ‘public’ ministry and follow the footsteps of my great-grandfather? Yeah – I even took four college courses — Old and New Testament, church history (general) and Lutheran doctrine…If God would open up a door today — I would step right through it. As you might have seen above – He rekindled my passion to reach out. To share the Gospel. To let the whole world know that they are loved, if they just would allow Him to be loved. I want to “Shout His Fame” from every roof-top!

You see, the seeds that were planted in my childhood, just needed His spark to grow vast in my heart…

And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” ~ Mark 4:8-9 (NIV)

  1. You’re an interesting person. I’m trying to figure out a way that you can go into this ministry and ride a motorcycle at the same time. Maybe you can be “The Bible Biker” –preaching from town to town.:)

  2. Hello, Dear Iris…

From the time I first “met” you online, I have seen you sharing your faith through gentle words of encouragement and truth. Sometimes you have been subtle, like sharing a beautiful photograph that displayed the splendor of God’s creation. Sometimes you have been overt, like coming right out and declaring your love for Christ and your desire to share that love with others.

You’ve also repeatedly honored your earthly father by speaking highly of him, revering his memory, and speaking words of thanks and gratefulness for the way he spoke into your life. I believe that the Lord honors those who honor their parents. Every time you’ve mentioned your father, you have glorified the Lord.

I pray that this new zeal within your heart will come to fruition, according to the will and to the perfect timing of the Lord.

    ((((HUGS!!!))))

  3. You’re on your way! You’re doing it. (I love Darlene’s comment… lol. But why not?) Seek and ye shall find. Keep looking for those opportunities to teach and share!
