Happy 4th of July

America is celebrating its Independence today. Although I live in this country for the past 18 years, I still have my German citizenship…

I contemplated on freedom this past week…a different kind of freedom. I am glad that I am set free by the Truth that John describes in his Gospel.

What does freedom mean to you in this day and age?

Thank you for stopping by today. Have a blessed and safe 4th of July weekend…

  1. I’m so glad you now live in the USA, Iris. I guess for me, on this 4th of July, freedom means I can choose to worship God without fear. I don’t take this freedom for granted though. But most of all I am thankful for the freedom I have because through Jesus …I have peace with God. No condemnation. His Spirit can live in and through me. That’s true freedom!

  2. I love that picture…Iris–I thought of the “freedom” we enjoy to go and do. Whatever we want…whenever we want. The freedom to have as many or as few children as we can afford (for me it was 2). The freedom to go to which ever church to worship Jesus Christ as the one and only Son of the LIVING GOD!
Freedom is something I hope we all keep in the forefront of our minds—especially with all that is going on in the world today!

I love you girl! I hope I CAN go to Arizona one day!

  3. Iris,
To me, freedom has so many meanings. First and most important to me is the freedom to worship Jesus, to sing praise songs as I walk down my street (if I wish) – I think of places where you would be put to death for this and it makes my heart ache for those in oppression. I am so thankful for this freedom.
In another way, July 4th means so much to me because I have a long history in my family of men who have served in our military, and fought in wars against those that would be our earthly enemies and do not want us to enjoy the freedoms that we have.
I am thankful for the sacrifices that many have made for us to enjoy the everyday freedoms that we have.
Blessings! Have a great day! 😉
