Bride & Prejudice

Yeah – I like ‘Bollywood’ movies. I don’t know why, but they are fun to watch. We watch a lot of different movies around this house – especially international ones. My favorite of course are still movies in German 😉

But ‘Bollywood’ movies have become close second. Just too bad that they don’t show them often on TV. But this past weekend, I had the chance to watch the last part of ‘Bride & Prejudice‘, which now I have to find in the local video store. My first introduction to this genre was ‘Bend it like Beckham‘ and my Sweetheart was so kind to get it for me…If you have never watch one, just give it try. Of course there is always a wedding, singing, dancing and the colors of the dresses are just incredible…

So, now you know what kind of movies I like. What kind of movies do you watch? And if you are usually just reading my blog (aka lurker) now I have the chance to get to know you if you comment…(see Sarah 😀 – I changed my post a little)

Oh – don’t forget. Tomorrow I am allow to host “In Other Words”. Check out the quote for it below or over at CWO’s site

Blessings on your Monday and as always…

  1. This is fun Iris!! Good idea :). My favorite type of movie is the psychological thriller…hmmmm, some may be surprised, some not, considering my profession. Every now and then I like to watch a ‘chick flick’ as they call them, but I am not into sappy and tearful…however, my husband is 🙂 We actually just watched The Guardian on Saturday…although not a psychological thriller…it was quite action packed..and very good. Enjoy your day!! And all you lurkers out there….share it…it’s fun to hear everyone’s answer.

  2. Good idea, Iris. I just might have to try this one myself. I must confess, I never heard of “Bollywood” movies so I checked out your links~looks interesting. We don’t go to movies but borrow lots of DVDs from the library.

    Have a blessed day!

  3. Hmmm…my favorite movies are happy movies, movies where things turn out well (you know, the not-so-pretty girl gets the guy, the wicked step-mother gets her just due, etc.) I like movies based on Jane Austin books (Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, Sense and Sensibility, etc) And I LOVE old musicals. That’s the cheesy side of me I guess!

  4. Bollywood… gosh… ‘had to’ watch one of those in an Indian Restaurant in London… I guess this was too much love and romance for my taste 🙂

My actual favorite is ELIZABETHTOWN with Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst. And I also love series like CSI and Grey’s Anatomy, as well a real classics like “To kill a mockingbird”, “39 steps” and others.

Which German Movies do you like?

    Love from Germany,
    Helen

  5. My favorite movie is “Greek Wedding.” I howl with laughter every time we watch it. We also like the “A Year in Provence.” My preference is anything funny. “Canadian Bacon” is another hoot… if you’re Canadian! Blessings on your week.

  6. I loved Bend it Like Beckham, but that’s the only Bollywood type movie I’ve ever seen. My movie preferences are all over the map — from old B&W classics to dramas like The Shawshank Redemption (my very favorite movie of all time) to sweet romantic comedies like 13 Going on 30.

  7. Hmmm. I have an eclectic mix. I love pretty much anything not American. Love anime, love Bollywood, love Kung Fu (faves are Jackie Chan- the romance ones, Jet Li, and of courses Bruce Lee), LOVE BBC comedies, though I am not keen on French or Italian movies–too weird, and I enjoy several Polish filmmakers. The only chick flicks I enjoy are ones based on Jane Austin, however loosely, and Meg Ryan films, and I STILL love 80’s teeny bopper movies (LOVE Pretty in Pink). I also love old musicals. Oh, and movies that are based on children’s books (ony the ones that don’t mess with them) and Sci-fi/fantasy. Hmmm. I thnk the only movies I don’t like are sappy movies, dramas, horror, and thrillers (I can’t handle the music and get nightmares.)

I loved Bride and Predjudice. 🙂

  8. I’m glad I don’t watch movies with you. For one, I wouldn’t understand the German, and two, I don’t love Bollywood. I like mindless chickflicks. I really enjoy a good love story and bright colors and little to think about. I know that is shallow, but I hate when I don’t “get” a movie. Some of my favs are 13 Going on 30, and the new Jennifer Garner one (forget the name), I like While you Were Sleeping, Maid in Manhattan, etc. See mindless chick flicks–I warned you!

I saw Bend it Like Beckham too. 🙂

  9. Bend it like Beckham was fun. I’m afraid I don’t watch too many of them, but did enjoy that one alot! Most of my favorites are kiddy movies! lol The princess diaries.. or jet li movies… that’s weird, isn’t it? lol
